Glorious lettuces in the greenhouse. This is something I struggle with in the UK, the dreadful selection of leaf salads (usually limited to iceberg, or iceberg in my local shops). 😬 Rather proud of those seed-grown irises now growing around the pond. I found a tiny unnamed packet of old seeds under my desk a few years ago - all I know is that they were wild-collected. Many parts of the veg garden have dry, rocky soil which is no good for vegetables. Mediterranean herbs on the other hand love it! Thymus longicaulis is looking fantastic at the moment. Mowed paths in the orchard this year, for biodiversity but mainly to help trees struggling with early summer drought here. Hope that will mean less fruit drop! It looks really good too, with plenty of flowers left for insects. 🍎🍐🍒🍑 I have no idea how this peony arrived in the garden but I love it so much 💚 Shades of sandstone...colours of the Isle of Wight 🌈 Orchard loveliness 🌸 Preparing for Easter 🥚🐣🐇🌱 Euphorbia myrsinites still looking good in the alpine trough, after yesterday's surprise snow.
